Follow-Up Consultation

The first follow-up appointment is typically scheduled 4-6 weeks after your first office visit and lasts 60 minutes. Subsequent visits are offered from 30-60 minutes. The goal of a follow-up consultation is to discuss the results of any new lab work that has been ordered, and review how your wellness plan is progressing. If necessary, changes may be made to the treatment plan based on your lab results and experience with the wellness plan so far.

No Surprises Act

Under the No Surprises Act, you as a patient have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Your Good Faith Estimate will outline the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs and will be based on information known at the time the estimate was created.

This estimate includes costs related to service, laboratory testing, supplement & herbal medicines, and all other anticipated fees:

  • Your healthcare provider will provide you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You may also ask your healthcare provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, it is within your rights to dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
