The goal of a follow-up consultation is to discuss the results of any new lab work that has been ordered, and review how your wellness plan is progressing. Under the No Surprises Act, you as a patient have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost upon request. Your Good Faith Estimate will outline the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs and will be based on information known at the time the estimate was created.

This estimate includes costs related to service, laboratory testing, supplement & herbal medicines, and all other anticipated fees:

  • You may ask your healthcare provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, it is within your rights to dispute the bill.
