What is a "Fertile Window"?

The fertile window refers to the time where conception is most likely to occur. This includes a general timeline for when ovulation may happen and when intercourse is highly advised, given sperm can live up to five days. For most women this window falls 5 days prior to ovulation and the day after ovulation, given the lifespan of the sperm and egg collectively. In a classic 28 day cycle this typically falls between days 10 and 16 of the cycle, but it can vary from person to person.
